WASHINGTON, D.C.
  - Yesterday, Representative Ruben J. Kihuen submitted an amendment to the Republican FY 2017 Budget Resolution, S. Con. Res. 3, that would protect Medicaid beneficiaries from potential cuts caused by Republican efforts to repeal the Affordable Care Act:

“As the Republicans threaten to repeal the Affordable Care Act with no replacement in sight, we must protect those most vulnerable who rely on the ACA for critical health needs – particularly low-income children. My amendment would prevent Republicans from slashing Medicaid funding and cutting access to Medicaid providers, like pediatricians. Unfortunately, my Republican colleagues don’t see it that way – by refusing to even allow my amendment to be considered on the House Floor, they are pulling the rug out from under hardworking families and turning their backs on our kids.”
