WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the House Energy and Commerce Environment Subcommittee advanced the Nuclear Waste Policy Amendments Act of 2017 to the full Energy and Commerce Committee for consideration. Rep. Ruben J. Kihuen previously testified in front of the Environment Subcommittee in opposition to the proposed legislation on April 26, 2017.
“House Republicans seem intent on ignoring the will of the vast majority of Nevadans who do not want our state to become a dump for the rest of the country’s nuclear waste. I will continue to fight for a use of Yucca Mountain that benefits the local community without negatively impacting Southern Nevada.”
